What we need and what we do with it

If you’re entering our Write it Darkly Young Writers’ Competition, we need your name, an email address, phone number and your age. Your name and email address is so we can communicate with you about the competition. We ask for your phone number in case we’re not able to contact you via email. We don’t need details of your school but if the competition details came to you through your school, it’s fine to let us know about it. All our data is password-protected.

Who we share your data with

We don’t share your data with anyone. If you’re a competition winner, we’ll ask you if you’d like your name to appear on our gothicky.com website, together with your piece of writing.

How long we hold your information

We hold your information while the competition is on-going. Once the competition is finished, unless you’re a winner, all data will be deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to rectify your data at any time or to access your data at any time. You can do this by contacting us. If you’d like to withdraw your consent, please email alicargill@yahoo.com

What happens if you don’t provide your information?

Unfortunately, this means it’s not possible to enter our competition if you don’t want to provide your information. However, we can promise not to share it or to contact you if you don’t want us to.
